Liberia was destroyed by a civil war which lasted nearly 15 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of the war and more recently the Ebola epidemic, many young Liberians have lost their parents. They are left to fend for themselves, spend their lives idling in streets, with many into drugs, prostitution and delinquency. They have been completely marginalized. Arise From Ashes sees them as wasted and untapped potential.<\/span><\/p>\n

Liberia is a demographically young country. Majority of the population is under 25 years old, not to mention the rising fertility rate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to the war, the education system was interrupted for children who, to date, suffer an irreparable delay. This target group finds itself with no hope for the future. The best way out of this precarious situation is vocational training and skills development.<\/span><\/p>\n

This youth is the future of Liberia. Our mission is to enable them to rise from their ashes – Arise From Ashes – and regain control over their lives.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
